vintage-inspired engagement session - Parkwood Estate in Oshawa
When Amika first reached out, she envisioned a shoot entirely in black and white—an idea that sparked immediate inspiration for me. My original plan was to capture each frame in monochrome, straight from the camera. 🖤
However, as soon as we entered the breathtaking Parkwood Estate in Oshawa, known for its historical elegance and appearances in films like Billy Madison and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I knew a shift was necessary. The intricate, delicate architecture and the soft natural light playing off the luxurious details demanded to be shot in color. Trusting my instincts, I made the pivot, shooting in color but preserving the essence of our original vision through meticulous editing. ✨
Then, Amika stepped in, wearing that stunning black gown. The entire session instantly transformed. The striking contrast of her dramatic silhouette against the Estate’s refined backdrop was breathtaking—an absolute showstopper. The fusion of timeless elegance and modern edge made this shoot unforgettable. 🫶
Set within an ambiance of historical grandeur, their love story unfolded amid ornate wood paneling, antique furnishings, and soft, romantic lighting. Every detail—from Amika’s classic white dress to Mark’s timeless suspenders—perfectly complemented the Estate’s old-world charm, creating a scene brimming with timeless romance and sophistication.
Stay tuned for the next round of images from this beautifully crafted session! ✨
